To further enhance the awareness of technological innovation among wood-processing enterprises across the district, guide them in leveraging scientific and technological advances to strengthen their core competitiveness, and promote quality improvement, efficiency gains, and industrial transformation and upgrading, a training session on bolstering the technological innovation capacity of the district’s wood-processing sector was held on the morning of September 10 in the West Conference Room on the second floor of the District Government Building. Officials from the District Science and Technology Bureau, heads of science-and‑technology affairs in each town and subdistrict, full-time science-and‑technology personnel, and executives from key wood-processing enterprises throughout the district attended the training.

This training session invited two experts—Researcher Li Changgui, Director of the Wood Research Institute at the Shandong Academy of Forestry Sciences, and Researcher Liu Gangyi from the Science and Technology Information Research Institute of the Heze Municipal Bureau of Science and Technology—to deliver specialized lectures in succession.

Researcher Li Changgui, under the theme of “Sustainable Development of Shandong Province’s Timber Industry,” provided a systematic exposition focusing on the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, the strengthening of indigenous brands, and the promotion of entrepreneurial spirit. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the new circumstances and requirements confronting the timber industry today, offering clear strategic guidance to timber-processing enterprises in our region as they accelerate the shift in their development model and elevate the industry’s level of advancement.

Researcher Liu Gangyi, focusing on the theme of “Policies to Benefit Enterprises through Science and Technology,” provided a detailed analysis of enterprise‑friendly measures such as policies supporting scientific and technological innovation and fiscal funding programs. He also offered an in-depth explanation of the key steps and critical considerations that require particular attention during the re‑certification process for high‑tech enterprises, helping companies accurately grasp these policies, fully leverage their benefits, and effectively translate policy dividends into momentum for development.

Participants unanimously agreed that the two experts’ briefing reports were comprehensive and well‑structured, presenting complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner. They combined theoretical rigor with practical insights, offering highly targeted and actionable guidance. Moving forward, the District Science and Technology Bureau will continue to organize tiered, category‑specific training programs and provide robust support services, leveraging scientific and technological innovation to drive high‑quality industrial development.
