Recently, the Liuzhou Municipal Quality Inspection Center organized a training session on the promulgation and implementation of the national standard GB 18580-2025, “Limit for Formaldehyde Emission from Man-made Boards and Their Products Used in Interior Decoration and Renovation.” A total of 76 man-made board manufacturers across the city, representing 112 quality management personnel, attended the meeting. The event facilitated the proactive planning and deployment of measures to ensure the smooth implementation of the new standard, thereby promoting the high-quality development of Liuzhou’s man-made board industry.
During the meeting, experts from the Liuzhou Municipal Quality Inspection Center provided an authoritative interpretation of the core content of the new national standard, clearly outlining three major upgrade requirements and establishing clear guidelines for enterprises’ production planning.
First, the limit standards have been tightened, with differentiated tiered control based on base materials and finished products: base materials for man-made boards must meet the E1 standard (≤0.124 mg/m³), while finished man-made board products—including veneered man-made boards, molded wood products, wood flooring, and wooden doors—must meet the E0 standard (≤0.050 mg/m³), thereby further enhancing the safety and protection of indoor environmental quality.
Second, testing efficiency has improved substantially: under the new standard, the testing cycle is shortened by at least five days compared with the old standard, effectively reducing enterprises’ time and financial costs and enhancing the efficiency of production and operations.
Third, the implementation timeline is clearly defined: the new standard will officially come into effect on June 1, 2026, providing enterprises with ample time to upgrade processes, commission equipment, and make quality improvements.
This publicity and training session not only focused on interpreting the new national standards but also provided a simultaneous briefing on the city-wide quality supervision spot checks of the man-made board industry, offered a detailed explanation of policies related to production licensing, and conducted hands-on training for quality and safety positions, thereby comprehensively helping enterprises address their shortcomings in quality control. Participating companies gained a precise understanding of the technical specifications of the new national standards, clarified the compliance requirements throughout the entire production process, and identified the key links in quality control, laying the groundwork for completing production-line upgrades ahead of schedule, Testing equipment Adaptation and compliance with product quality standards lay a solid foundation.
This publicity and training session effectively harmonized industry testing methods and implementation standards, helping enterprises smoothly transition to the new standards and mitigating compliance risks. At the same time, it further standardized production and business operations in Liuzhou’s man-made board industry, comprehensively enhanced the sector’s overall quality control capabilities, and accelerated the industry’s shift toward green practices, standardization, and high quality, thereby injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of Liuzhou’s man-made board industry.
