The panel-based home furnishings industry is a traditional strength of Guanhu Town. To promote high-quality industrial development, in recent years, Guanhu Town has placed great emphasis on intelligent manufacturing, systematically and stepwise advancing the cultivation of smart factories at various levels and scales. It has fully leveraged technological tools such as big data to intelligently transform traditional industries, accelerating the widespread adoption of digital equipment and the construction of smart factories.
Upgrading traditional industries with "intelligence"
Recently, in the production workshop of Jiangsu Druny Smart Home Co., Ltd.—a national-level 5G factory—smart production lines are running at high speed. Here, data enables efficient and precise control of production-line equipment. Relying on an intelligent manufacturing system, the company has significantly boosted its production efficiency.
Zhang Wei, the production manager at Jiangsu Drunni Smart Home Co., Ltd., introduced: “Currently, our workshop has achieved full 5G network coverage. Equipment can now engage in ultra-high-speed ‘communication’ with each other, boosting production capacity by 40%, reducing labor costs by 50%, and achieving a board utilization rate of over 92%.”
At Deruny, every board piece entering the production process is equipped with a unique “digital ID”—a QR code. From cutting and edge banding to hole drilling, sorting, and packaging, all processing information throughout the entire workflow is stored in these QR codes. By scanning these codes, equipment can automatically read the relevant data and carry out processing, effectively reducing various costs and minimizing resource waste. Ma Tian, an employee at Jiangsu Deruny Smart Home Co., Ltd., told our reporter: “Previously, one or two people would operate a single machine; now, one person can handle two machines—or even more—boosting efficiency by a factor of three to five and making the work much easier.”
Currently, Druni’s intelligent applications have expanded into front-end design and customer service. By partnering with software companies to develop systems, businesses can achieve automatic drawing, automatic rendering, and one-click order placement. As a result, design efficiency and order-handling capacity have more than tripled compared to traditional methods, enabling businesses to deliver customized solutions to customers faster and with greater precision.
The digital factory is operating effectively.
Druuni’s smart manufacturing practices have also spurred collaborative upgrades across the upstream and downstream sectors of the industry chain. At Jiangsu Oulin Smart Home Co., Ltd., production data is dynamically displayed in real time on a visual monitoring platform, clearly reflecting the operational status of the intelligent production line. Compared to traditional production lines, this facility has halved its workforce while tripling its productivity. It is reported that this year, the company plans to further upgrade the packaging stage at the end of the production line with smart technologies, thereby achieving full-process intelligent manufacturing.
Liu Zhongcheng, an employee of Jiangsu Oulin Smart Home Co., Ltd., said: “Our production line is an intelligent one that meets Industry 4.0 standards. It features a high degree of automation, requires fewer personnel, and makes the work much easier than before.”
The industrial chain is advancing toward “new” frontiers.
In recent years, a group of pioneering enterprises has accumulated valuable experience in the intelligent transformation and digitalization of the board-based home furnishings industry in Guanhu Town, laying a solid foundation for the industry’s future development.
Fang Wangnan, a staff member of the Economic Development Office in Guanhu Town, stated: “We will continue to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. This year, we plan to cultivate five advanced-level smart factories and one excellent-level smart factory, strive to obtain approval for three specialized, sophisticated, and new small and medium-sized enterprises, continuously expand the scale of the smart home industry, and drive Guanhu Town’s industries toward intelligent and green development.”
