Recently, the Science and Technology Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region officially announced the list of key laboratories recognized in 2025. The "Guangxi Bamboo and Wood Structure Intelligent Construction Key Laboratory," jointly established by Rong'an County's leading enterprise Guangxi Zhuangxiang Wood Industry Co., Ltd. and Guangxi University of Science and Technology among other units, was approved for the first time. This major breakthrough marks a key step for Rong'an County in technological innovation in the bamboo and wood industry, green manufacturing, and digital transformation, injecting strong technological momentum into the county's "agriculture to industry" strategy implementation and high-quality industrial development.

The laboratory will leverage Rong'an County's abundant high-quality bamboo and wood resources to focus on breakthroughs in core technologies such as bamboo and wood panel performance optimization, functional development, and intelligent production, building a full industry chain R&D system from "forest—panel—home furnishing." The establishment of the laboratory will significantly enhance the added value of Rong'an's bamboo and wood processing industry, promote the upgrade of traditional manufacturing towards intelligence, greenness, and branding, and provide technical support for the formulation of industry standards for bamboo and wood structures across the region.

According to the latest statistics, in the first half of 2025, the county's industrial added value above designated size increased by 11.9% year-on-year, and the total industrial output value above designated size grew by 8.6%.
