Recently, according to the statistics from various localities reported to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, from January to June, 16,500 old urban communities nationwide started renovation. In the first half of the year, localities renovated and upgraded 11,800 kilometers of aging pipelines such as water, electricity, gas, and heating, implemented aging-friendly and barrier-free renovations in more than 4,000 communities, and added more than 8,000 elevators. Regionally, six areas including Hebei, Liaoning, Chongqing, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, and Fujian exceeded 80% completion rate.

Old urban community renovation has a significant economic effect and is an important measure to stabilize investment and expand domestic demand. The work carried out in the first half of the year has greatly driven the development of related industries such as home building materials; at the same time, through the renovation of old urban communities, residents' living conditions have been significantly improved, effectively stimulating residents' willingness to consume and driving the growth of consumer demand for home appliances and furniture.
According to the national plan, 25,000 old urban communities are planned to start renovation nationwide in 2025. With the continuous advancement of this goal, it will fully unleash the domestic demand potential of the home furnishing industry and provide continuous and stable incremental space for the high-quality development of the home furnishing industry.
