Liaoning’s Pulandian District Hosts a Salon on High-Quality Development of the Wood Industry

On April 28, Pulandian District hosted a high-quality development salon for the wood industry, bringing together entrepreneurs, government functional departments, and financial institutions to focus on two core challenges—labor recruitment and financing—and to establish an efficient matchmaking platform for jointly charting a blueprint for the industry’s high-quality development. Zou Jizheng, Director of the Standing Committee of the District People’s Congress, attended the event and delivered a speech.

At the salon, business concerns were directly channeled to the government–enterprise service “portal,” fostering a lively atmosphere of communication and exchange. Business representatives candidly offered suggestions on such areas as industry clustering, supply-chain collaboration, and promotional outreach, with particular emphasis on pressing issues such as labor shortages and a dearth of skilled workers. In response to these requests, various departments acted swiftly: the District Human Resources and Social Security Bureau provided on-site explanations of flexible recruitment and school–enterprise matchmaking initiatives, working tirelessly to address labor shortfalls; the District Science, Technology, and Information Technology Bureau stepped up as a “strategic advisor” and “service provider” for businesses, ensuring that pro-business policies are delivered promptly and efficiently; and Taiping Subdistrict pledged to provide robust support for key production factors, intensify investment promotion along industrial chains, and stimulate endogenous momentum for industrial development.

Financing matchmaking emerged as the central focus of this salon, with institutions such as China Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank of China, and Dalian Bank deploying targeted measures to address the challenges faced by wood-processing enterprises in accessing affordable financing. These measures include streamlining approval processes, lowering loan interest rates, and tailoring financing solutions to the specific asset profiles of individual firms, thereby effectively reducing both the barriers to and the costs of corporate financing and supporting enterprises in expanding production and improving efficiency.

In his address, Zou Jizheng pointed out that the wood industry is one of the “six major” pillar industries in our region, having established a solid industrial foundation and playing a pivotal role in boosting employment and driving regional economic development. This salon event, centered on exchange, dialogue, and collaborative matchmaking, has created a regular platform for government–enterprise communication, industry-wide exchanges, and bank–enterprise cooperation, thereby effectively pooling resources and fostering synergy for the high-quality development of the sector.

Zou Jizheng emphasized that, moving forward, the District Wood Industry Association should serve as a vital bridge and link, effectively conveying government policies and relaying industry concerns to inform policy-making, thereby fostering collaborative development across the sector. Entrepreneurs, for their part, should focus on technological innovation and product upgrading, leveraging bank–enterprise matchmaking initiatives to overcome financing challenges. Meanwhile, government functional departments, subdistrict offices, and financial institutions must provide targeted, attentive services and strengthen support for key production factors, ensuring robust backing for industrial growth. In addition, the District People’s Congress will continue to closely monitor the development of the wood industry, rigorously oversee the implementation of business-friendly policies in accordance with the law, help address the industry’s persistent pain points, and inject new momentum into efforts to enhance quality and efficiency across the sector.

According to reports, the next step for our district will be to establish and improve a regular mechanism for government–enterprise–bank collaboration in the wood industry. Docking machine By institutionalizing the collection of enterprise demands, systematically listing and addressing issues, and fostering coordinated efforts to overcome development bottlenecks, we will continuously drive the wood industry’s transformation and upgrading toward intelligence, green practices, and brand-building, with the goal of strengthening our signature industries and providing robust support for high-quality regional economic development in Pulandian.
