On the morning of March 9, as we entered the High-End Board and Green Smart Home Industry Park in Lanshan District, Linyi City, the Xingcheng Zhiju Eco-City project was in full swing, racing against time to meet its deadlines and accelerate progress. Processes such as rebar tying and concrete pouring were tightly coordinated, carried out with intense yet orderly efficiency.
The park covers a total area of 6,500 mu, with 20 projects already completed and set to be fully operational by the end of this year. The bustling construction site vividly demonstrates the “acceleration” in project development. At present, the roads connecting the factory areas have been largely paved, and construction teams are now carrying out landscaping and beautification work. A brand‑new wood industry upgrade zone is rapidly taking shape.
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed building a modern industrial system and consolidating and strengthening the foundation of the real economy; it emphasized adhering to the directions of intelligentization, green development, and integration; and called for optimizing and upgrading traditional industries. The wood industry is a traditional pillar industry in Lanshan District, which currently boasts 472 large-scale enterprises engaged in high‑end panelboard and green smart home industry chains. Lanshan has established a dedicated task force for the high‑end panelboard and green smart home industry chains, formulated the “Lanshan District High‑End Panelboard and Green Smart Home Industry Upgrade and Development Plan,” and compiled industry chain maps, layout plans, and investment promotion roadmaps, continuing to exert strong efforts in areas such as strengthening science and technology innovation-driven development, enhancing brand value, and expanding overseas markets.
As the core platform for the transformation and upgrading of Linyi’s wood industry, Xingcheng Zhiju Eco‑City breaks away from the traditional single‑focus industrial park model and redefines the new industrial ecosystem based on the “ecological community” concept. According to available information, the project is planned to cover a total construction area of approximately 185,000 square meters and, with its high‑standard hardware infrastructure, will create a comprehensive industrial platform capable of meeting enterprises’ needs for end‑to‑end, integrated development.
According to staff, the Lanshan District High-End Board Materials and Green Smart Home Industry Park is being planned to shift from “dispersed and extensive” operations to “cluster-based and intensive” development. By centrally constructing multi‑story factory buildings, land utilization has increased by a factor of 2.5. The park is transforming from “low‑end and traditional” to “green, high‑end, and intelligent,” with enterprises partnering with leading brands to achieve order‑driven production, introducing smart equipment from both domestic and international sources to boost productivity, adopting eco‑friendly materials, and integrating bio‑power generation projects to promote zero‑carbon development. Furthermore, the park is moving from “going it alone” to “forming chain‑linked clusters,” refining the entire industry chain to create a “one‑kilometer supply chain,” establishing a platform for matching supply and demand, collaborating with China Daji to build industrial belts, and helping Shangcheng expand its global reach.
In addition to its supporting services, the park is actively establishing industry–university–research platforms, fostering collaboration between enterprises and more than 10 universities—including Nanjing Forestry University and Northeast Forestry University—to build an integrated, collaboratively developed industrial ecosystem.
While vigorously advancing project construction, the park adheres to the development philosophy of “retaining talent through industry and attracting people with a superior environment,” meticulously planning and building a “four‑vertical and five‑horizontal” main road network to enhance the quality of life for residents. To date, four roads—Lanfu Road, Tuanjie Road, Fushui Road, and Fenghuang Avenue—have been successfully opened to traffic. In addition, the park provides high‑quality school placements to meet the needs of employees’ children for nearby schooling; once the Tuanbu Tun community is completed, it will be able to accommodate 3,500 residents, offering solid support for a high‑quality lifestyle that underpins the park’s development.
