Spring is a critical period for seedling growth and also a high incidence period for the breeding and transmission of harmful forestry organisms. In order to prevent and control the risks of pests and diseases from the source, ensure the ecological security and forest resources of our county's forestry, on March 19th, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Huachuan County began to carry out spring origin quarantine work on nurseries and wood processing enterprises in its jurisdiction.

To ensure the quality and efficiency of work, the Forestry and Grassland Bureau of Huachuan County organized technical forces from disease prevention stations, seedling stations, afforestation stations and other departments to form a joint quarantine working group. The joint quarantine working group strictly follows the relevant regulations such as the "Regulations on Plant Quarantine" and the "Technical Regulations for Forest Plant Quarantine", and goes deep into the nursery to record the seedling area, type, and specifications one by one. They observe the growth status of the seedling leaves, stems, and roots on site, and identify the characteristics of pests and diseases such as discolored patches, abnormal withering, and galls and holes in the seedlings. For nurseries where galls and diseased seedlings are found, the quarantine team will issue a "Quarantine Treatment Notice" on site to guide operators in carrying out pest control treatment. Check the legal proof of wood source of the wood processing enterprise, and examine whether there are any illegal and criminal activities such as illegal acquisition, processing, and use of pine infected wood. Establish an inventory ledger for wood processing enterprises, issue a "Quarantine Supervision Notice", sign a "Commitment Letter for Enterprise Plant Quarantine", and clarify the enterprise inspection system for imported pine wood and its products. As of now, 8 nurseries and 3 wood processing enterprises have been quarantined, and 1 "Quarantine Treatment Notice" has been issued for nurseries, 8 "Certificate of Origin Quarantine" have been issued for nurseries, and 3 "Certificate of Origin Quarantine" have been issued for timber.

At the same time as strict quarantine, the joint quarantine working group simultaneously carried out science popularization and publicity activities.
